I am extremely fortunate to have coached some very talented athletes. Here are some of them and what they have to say.

I’ve been racing in triathlon since 2008, I raced my first long distance triathlon in 2012 (Challenge Roth, Germany) finishing with a respectable time of 11hrs 20 min.
Triathlon is a demanding sport, you need to find the right training balance within the three disciplines and it is not easy to do it without some help.
Alvin started to coach me in March 2013, I had two goals in my season: going sub 11 hours in an Ironman distance race and get close to 5hrs in a middle distance race.
We sat down together and we analysed my strength and weakness. Alvin tailored my personal training plan around my ability.
Following a structured plan I managed to improve all the three disciplines and I achieved the goals I set at the beginning of the season.
I closed Mallorca 70.3 in 5hrs 05 (PB by 20 minutes) and Challenge Roth in 10hrs 34min!
Working with Alvin helped me to believe in my potentials and succeed!

Training for an Ironman distance is a mental and physical battle. My coach Alvin has given me the self-belief and confidence in my abilities to pursue my goals.
Alvin’s detailed and hands on approach as a coach, has allowed me to trust his judgment with his incredible ability of adapting plans and sessions when unexpected issues arise, with my times dropping as a result.
Alvin’s training plans are always moving forward with thanks to regular testing allowing us to see regular improvement and the need for change.
Alvin has provided me with constant support, not just with his detailed plans, but support when it really counts, when goals seem out of reach, when training sessions don’t quite go to plan, or when injury takes over. Having someone who you know is always there to pick you up and keep you focused is priceless.

After toiling away in Triathlon for 2 seasons and gaining no progress I turned to Alvin Cooney to help me achieve what I thought was impossible….Challenge Roth.

He set out a training plan that suited my life style and adjusted it as I progressed through the plan. Best thing I could have done.

I completed my first Iron distance race in 12hrs 25mins!! Thanks Alvin!
